Black AIDS Institute Seeks Your Input to NHTD Event Calendar and Instagram Campaign Featuring Black Males

30 Days of HIV includes a calendar of all health events all over the country related to HIV Testing Day
Over the next month, the Black AIDS Institute will engage in several activities to increase awareness of National HIV Testing Day (NHTD) on June 27, 2017.
First, the Institute is compiling a Calendar of Events taking place during the 30 days leading up to NHTD.
If your organization has planned an HIV-testing or other outreach activity between May 27 and June 27 whose goal is to help end HIV/AIDS in Black communities or improve the HIV continuum of care, we invite you to submit the details of that activity—the name of your organization, the event name, location, date, time, contact information and a link to the event website—to
Also, as we prepare to mark Men's Health Month, Gay Pride Month and NHTD, the Institute will highlight the contributions of Black GBTQ and same-gender-loving (SGL) men of all ages (and particularly young men) through an Instagram campaign featuring them. From Saturday, May 27 to Tuesday, June 27, the Institute will host a 30-day campaign featuring typical life experiences of Black GBTQ/SGL men--particularly images that challenge stereotypes, portray healthy lifestyle choices, and fill in the gaps in the visual imagery of the men's lived experiences.
If you are a Black GBTQ/SGL man who is 21 years or older and living in the United States, we invite you to submit two photos or video less than 60 seconds long, along with a short story, poem, narrative or rhyme of 100 words or less describing the images, similar to the stories that accompany the images of Instagram photographer Ruddy Roye or Humans of New York.
What kinds of images are we looking for? Images of you doing you! You heading to work, you cooking a healthy meal, you on the grind, you with your boo, you raising your children, you going for your dreams, you taking ARVs, you chilling with friends, you coaching kids, you making safer choices to reduce HIV risk, you providing for loved ones, you calling your congressperson, you running for office, you as part of the AIDS movement, you experiencing #BlackBoyJoy. You get the picture. Now share it with us!
Please email your photos or video and a description of them 100 words long or less to
