Houston organizations to collaborate for PrEP Learning Collaborative

The Black AIDS Institute in collaboration with Cicatelli Associates is seeking participating applications from Health Care Organizations and AIDS Service Organizations for their second PrEP Learning Collaborative (LC) set to begin in Houston at the end of September. The Learning Collaborative aims to increase PrEP utilization in health care and community based organizations serving communities with high HIV incidence rates in Houston.

From 2015-2016 the Institute hosted the first US PrEP Learning Collaborative to boost Southern PrEP efforts in Atlanta, GA. The Institute is excited to host the next LC in Houston from 2016-2017.

This past year's LC participating organizations included Absolute Care a private clinic, AIDS Atlanta a primary care clinic, Emory University, Fulton County Health Department, and NAESM a community based organization.

The PrEP Learning Collaborative is a learning process bringing together teams from multiple sites to improve their PrEP services while learning from collective experiences and challenges.

The model requires focused work by each organization to adapt effective practices over the course of a 9 to 18-month learning process.

The Collaborative will bring together teams of professionals from practices which have committed to work toward achieving the project priorities, which are:

Increase the visibility of PrEPIncrease the number of strategic partnerships to deliver PrEPIncrease access & utilization of PrEP among high risk negatives

To participate in this exciting collaboration, apply by September 15, 2016.
