Los Angeles Black Treatment Advocates Network To Host Women AWARE: Advocating for Wellness, Awareness, Reduction, and Empowerment

HIV/AIDS training geared especially toward women

The Black Treatment Advocates Network in Los Angeles is partnering with the Black AIDS Institute to host Women AWARE: Advocating for Wellness, Awareness, Reduction, and Empowerment, a program for women of all backgrounds—whether teen, young adult or aging; lesbian, straight, bisexual or transwomen.

Focused on building HIV science literacy among communities in Los Angeles, specifically as it relates to women and girls, the three-day training will take place on April 16th through 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The conference will address such topics as women and HIV, biomedical interventions for women, treatment myths and suspicions in Black communities, HIV and faith, and a number of other topics of interest to women of all backgrounds. It is open to the public.
