For years we've known that Black MSM use condoms more often than other gay and bisexual men, which makes the recent research about them reported in the journal Sexually Transmitted Infections, really really intriguing and important. We open with TheBody.com's story about the study showing that some Black gay Atlanta report higher rates of condom failure and incomplete use.
We are also aware that PLWHA have higher rates of depression and anxiety. Guy Anthony writes about his experience with bipolar disorder and journey to obtain mental-health help. Recently HHS announced that it would fund 147 health centers to create patient-centered medical homes, which we know offer people with HIV/AIDS the coordinated care that they need. A retrospective analysis of Medicaid claims data from 15 states found that only 21 percent of people who had tested positive had linked to care within one year.
Finally Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg spoke out on the tragedy in Ferguson, Missouri, and our nation's unresolved race problems.
