Cost Sharing and Tax Credits: Making Marketplace Health Insurance Affordable

Amy Killelea, Associate Director of Health Systems Integration at NASTAD, is one of the four presenters at "Cost Sharing and Tax Credits: Making Marketplace Health Insurance Affordable."
With Affordable Care Act open enrollment taking place until February 15, 2015, many service providers at ASOs and CBOs will have questions, and the ACE TA is prepared to address them. The goal of the ACE TA Center is to help Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program grantees and sub-grantees enroll diverse clients, especially people of color, in health insurance. In collaboration with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the ACE TA Center will work to engage newly eligible clients across all stages of the health-coverage access continuum, including outreach and education, enrollment assistance, post-enrollment support and renewal/re-enrollment.
Through a partnership with the Black AIDS Institute and JSI, the ACE TA Center will offer "Financial Help for Marketplace Health Insurance:
Cost Sharing and Tax Credits" on Thursday, December 4 at 3:00 PM Eastern Time. This webinar will educate clients getting health insurance through the Marketplace on how they can qualify for financial help.
For consumers getting health insurance through the Marketplace, tax credits (APTCs) and cost sharing reductions (CSRs) can help pay monthly premium costs and lower the amount they must pay out-of-pocket for deductibles, coinsurance and copayments. Webinar attendees should expect a walk-through of these two important financial subsidies, using case examples, as well as learn about eligibility, tax-filing requirements, how to apply, and what some state ADAPs are doing to support the process.
