March 10 is Women & Girls AIDS Awareness Day

Women have been affected by HIV/AIDS since the beginning of the epidemic, an impact that has grown over time.

Of the more than 1.1 million Americans living with HIV/AIDS today, more than 1 in 4 (29%) are women. Together with community partners across the nation, Greater Than AIDS is helping to increase knowledge about HIV/AIDS and confront the stigma surrounding the disease. This year's theme for National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is "Every Moment is a Deciding Moment," focusing on the unique moments that women have in relation to HIV/AIDS.
