This year A. Toni Young, founder and executive director of the Community Education Group in Washington, D.C., has undertaken the monumental task of moderating the Road to AIDS 2012 town hall meetings that the Black AIDS Weekly has been reporting on. We tracked her down in between these sessions to ask her about her hopes for this summer's International AIDS Conference.

Recently the Institute partnered with writer/director/producer Patrik-Ian Polk to promote health and testing at the D.C. premiere of his new gay urban-friendship dramedy, The Skinny. Patrik-Ian gives writer Janice Roshalle Littlejohn, well… the skinny about the inspiration for his film and the mainstreaming of gay characters in popular culture.

The World Health organization recently updated its recommendations for treating HIV-positive pregnant women and preventing mother-to-child transmission. Mark Mascolini of the International AIDS Society reports.

AIDS.gov has updated its HIV/AIDS Service Provider Locator, a one-stop search tool for people looking for HIV/AIDS services. You can add a locator widget optimized for mobile devices to your website, allowing visitors to search for testing services, housing providers, health centers and other service providers.

And as always we're reading a wide variety of related articles from the ban on gay men donating blood, to the ADAP watch, to whether the Trayvon Martin case is a LGBT issue.

Yours in the struggle,
