End of the Year Highlight: FIBO 2012

Fire Island Black Out, thank you for your commitment!

As the close of the end of the year approaches, we here at the Black AIDS Institute like to reflect on the amazing progress we have made. Throughout 2012, we have experienced amazing collaborations, sustained and thoughtful community partnerships as well as evolved professional relationships. We would like to take this time to highlight Fire Island Black Out (FIBO) 2012 Organization.

FIBO, “a multicultural weekend celebration for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community and their families and friends…”, brings people together for fun, promotes HIV awareness and assists in raising funds to continue the progressive work for HIV/AIDS affected communities. James Wellons, CEO/President of FIBO, this year donated a gracious $5,000 dollars to the Black AIDS Institute, showcasing the organization’s sense of ownership and commitment to supporting and celebrating the work we do at the Institute.

We thank you FIBO 2012 and Mr. Wellons for your continued dedication, service and support in the fight against the epidemic. We appreciate you as well as the countless others who continue to strive toward ending the AIDS epidemic. We look forward to our continued partnership with FIBO and Mr. Wellons and anticipate FIBO 2013 with passion, eager spirits and committed hearts.
