Signature Theatre Hosts Special Gay Men's HIV Awareness Evening on October 1, 2011

To commemorate the Washington, D.C., premiere of Sweet Tea: Black Gay Men of the South and Gay Men's HIV Awareness Day, Signature Theatre is hosting a special post-show panel discussion on Saturday, October 1st at 8:00 p.m. The discussion, "30 Years is Enuf," is presented through special arrangement with the Black Gay Men's Network, Black AIDS Institute, and Jane M. Saks.

Single ticket prices - which includes the performance, post-show discussion and meet-and-greet/book-signing with author & star E. Patrick Johnson - are available at the Signature Box Office at a special discounted price of $35 by using the code word METRO.

Based on his award-winning and critically acclaimed book, E. Patrick Johnson stars in this exploration of the southern Black gay community. Sweet Tea is currently playing in Signature's intimate ARK Theatre through October 9, 2011.

The post-performance "30 Years is Enuf" discussion will be moderated Jesse Milan, board chair emeritus of the Black AIDS Institute. Panelists will include E. Patrick Johnson, Tim'm (artist, HIV/AIDS activist, and character illustrated in Sweet Tea), and Ron Simmons (Us Helping Us).
