Obesity And Depression Are Entwined, Yet Scientists Don't Know Why

Scientists aren't sure why obesity and depression are correlated

About 15 years ago, Dr. Sue McElroy, a psychiatrist in Mason, Ohio, started noticing a pattern. People came to see her because they were depressed, but they frequently had a more visible ailment as well: They were heavy.

After volunteering in Rwanda, the 26-year-old recently started his professional career with the Black AIDS Institute, working with the Black Treatment Advocate Network (BTAN) in Chicago, Detroit and Louisiana.

Congress Revamps Housing Program To Benefit Areas Where HIV Is Spreading

Shyronn Jones, 39, and her children, Shyloh, 5, and Shymere, 14, live in Atlanta. The federal program called Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS helps Jones afford an apartment near a park where her daughter can safely play.

In a bipartisan push, Congress has restructured a federal program that provides housing assistance for people living with HIV to funnel more money into areas struggling to control the outbreak.
