A Cause I Wanted to Be Associated With: Jamal Hailey

One in a series of profiles of the 2013 Fellows in the Black AIDS Institute's African American HIV University's Science and Treatment College.

For the past 10 years I have lived in Baltimore, where I am the director of programs for STAR TRACK (Special Teens at Risk, Together Reaching Access, Care and Knowledge) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. I have been in this position for two years, and prior to that I was with the university for six years as HIV-prevention manager.

HHS Releases Report on 2012 Progress Implementing the National HIV/AIDS Strategy

Last Friday, September 20, 2013, the Office of HIV/AIDS and Infectious Disease Policy (OHAIDP) was pleased to host a number of HIV/AIDS leaders from across the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as well as many non-federal stakeholders as we paused to recognize and reflect on major accomplishments across HHS in implementing the National HIV/AIDS Strategy.

Lindsay Wright-El, Detroit Addiction and HIV/AIDS Activist, Dies


It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Lindsay Wright-El on Sunday, September 29, 2013. Lindsay was a leader and community advocate who fought tirelessly for the needs of those most disenfranchised. He will be missed by all who crossed his path and so many more who felt the impact of his work.
