Trans ID issues take on urgency as Donald Trump prepares to take office

There is a lot of uncertainty about what a Trump presidency will mean for many communities, but one group that has been particularly nervous is transgender people. Sunday, November 20 marked the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance, a day used to commemorate people lost to anti-transgender violence in this past year, just one indication of the serious challenges facing the community.

'A Huge Improvement': Study Finds Inmates Benefit From Much Shorter TB Treatment

Jails and federal prisons in California and elsewhere are adopting new treatment guidelines for latent tuberculosis infection based on research showing that it can be treated effectively during a much shorter period.
