PROUD Study Dispels Common Concerns About PrEP

If anyone is questioning whether pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) lives up to the hype, a study recently completed in England, the PROUD study, should dispel concerns. It set out to determine whether the excitement surrounding PrEP is, in fact, warranted.

We have achieved some hard-won victories against HIV in recent years. New infections among women and injection drug users are declining, people with HIV are living longer, and more people than ever know their HIV status. But one population — gay and bisexual men –is seeing infections rise, driven by increases among young gay men.

Positive Spin: New Digital Storytelling Project Encourages HIV Prevention, Testing, and Treatment

Positive Spin

We are excited to announce the release of Positive Spin, a digital educational tool that uses the power of personal stories and video to raise awareness about the HIV care continuum and to encourage people living with HIV to get into treatment. The AIDS.gov team worked with our Federal colleagues, healthcare professionals, people living with HIV, and community-based HIV organizations to develop this project, and we are very proud of the result.
