Black Treatment Advocate Network Trains Chicago HIV/AIDS Activists

The Black Treatment Advocates Network (BTAN) conducted two three-day training summits in Chicago this summer. The first, held in July, educated HIV/AIDS activists about AIDS science and treatment; the second, held in late August, prepared participants to mobilize communities affected by the disease.

Upcoming Philadelphia BTAN Training to Prep Grads for Same-Day NHAS Implementation Dialogue

The Black Treatment Advocate Network's (BTAN) training series in Philadelphia will culminate in an HIV/AIDS Symposium on Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Hub at the Cira Center, located at 2929 Arch Street.

Why This Year’s U.S. Conference on AIDS Is So Essential


I believe that this year’s United States Conference on AIDS (November 10-13) in Chicago, is one of the most important in our history. Our movement is at a crossroads as we work to implement the Affordable Care Act and the National HIV/AIDS Strategy. We can change the course of the epidemic. Biomedical innovations like Treatment as Prevention (TasP) as part of a combined prevention agenda could end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in our lifetime.

Demise of Pa. Plan For Low-Income Adults Leaves Many Uninsured


Six months after Pennsylvania terminated adultBasic, the state-funded health plan for low-income adults, many of the nearly 41,000 former enrollees who lost their coverage at the end of February likely have been left uninsured.
