I can't tell you how excited we, at the Black AIDS Institute, are to announce that producer/director Lee Daniels will headline our list of distinguished honorees—and actor and former honoree Jussie Smollett will host—the 2016 Heroes in the Struggle Gala and Award Celebration on World AIDS Day at the Director's Guild in Los Angeles. In this issue we tell you more about this star-studded event, including how you can get tickets. HITS Honoree Lee Daniels and HITS Host Jussie Smollett

The Black AIDS Institute is honored to announce that award winning producer, writer and director Lee Daniels (Empire, Lee Daniels' The Butler, Paper Boy, Precious, Monster's Ball) will headline an illustrious list of inductees into the Heroes in the Struggle Hall of Fame at a star-studded Gala Reception and Award Presentation, hosted by Jussie Smollett (Empire), at the Director's Guild of America, in Los Angeles, on World AIDS Day, December 1, 2016.
