This week we continue our series of stories about the Heroes in the Struggle Hall of Fame inductees, with a story about Marc Meachem, who runs external affairs for Viiv Healthcare, the GlaxoSmithKline pharmaceutical company focused 100 percent on HIV. Open Enrollment Begins November 1: The ACA helps pave the way to increased health coverage for people living with HIV.

The cost of health care can make engaging and remaining in care difficult for people living with HIV. Individuals across the country now have the opportunity to enroll or re-enroll in health coverage for 2017 through www.HealthCare.gov.
What is SMAIF?

In September, during the U.S. Conference on AIDS (USCA), AIDS.gov shared information about and launched new web pages that describe the work of the Secretary's Minority AIDS Initiative Fund (SMAIF). SMAIF funds innovative projects to improve HIV prevention and care in communities of color. The new pages will make it easier for people to learn about SMAIF and the best and promising practices coming out of these projects.
