NIH Research Network Finds Many Youth Have High Levels of HIV

Study succeeds at early diagnosis but suggests high risk of HIV infection for youth
More than 30 percent of young males who had sex with other males and who were subsequently enrolled in a government treatment and research network were found to have high levels of HIV, reported researchers from the National Institutes of Health and other institutions.

Pennsylvania Voter ID Ruled 'Unnecessarily' Burdensome, Unconstitutional

Pennsylvania Judge Bernard McGinley ruled today that the voter ID law passed in 2012 was a violation of the state's constitutional protections of the right to vote. Judge McGinley found that the burdens imposed on voters who lacked the documents to obtain a photo ID if they didn't have one, or lacked access to state offices that supplied IDs were too heavy and could lead to massive disenfranchisement. Obamacare: A Midterm Report Card

The first half of the Obamacare open enrollment period is over, and the federal health officials announced sign-up figures from the first three months.
After a disastrous start, HealthCare.gov (which handles enrollment for 36 states) began functioning properly. It, along with state-run insurance exchanges, netted more than 2.1 million signups between Oct. 1 and Dec. 28.
