Mapping the Cure With Geographic Information Systems

The National HIV/AIDS Strategy has provided the nation with a long-overdue framework for a population-based approach to HIV prevention and a more coordinated national response. But faced with funding reductions, HIV/AIDS professionals are now challenged to employ technology more effectively, including using not just the traditional HIV-surveillance data but increasingly a new technology: geographic information systems (GIS).

27 January 2012  (Washington, D.C., – United States) Organizers of the XIX International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2012) – to be held in Washington, D.C., Unites States from 22 to 27 July 2012 – today announced 15 major plenary presentations, focusing on the primary issues facing the global response to HIV and AIDS. Plenary speakers will open each day of the conference, which is expected to convene more than 20,000 participants from over 200 countries.

Who Offers Podcast On Hormonal Contraception In Women With HIV

A study of 3790 HIV-discordant couples (one partner HIV-negative and one positive) in 7 African countries found that hormonal contraceptives—and probably especially injectable hormones—raised the risk of HIV acquisition in women living with an HIV-positive partner.
