Four Black AIDS Institute Board Members Named to the POZ 100
Congratulations to Black AIDS Institute President and CEO Phill Wilson, Board Chair A. Cornelius Baker, Chair Emeritus Jesse Milan and Board Member Sheryl Lee Ralph on being named to POZ Magazine’s list of 100 list of “most dogged and downright” productive AIDS leaders. Baker, currently the policy advisor at the National Black Gay Men’s Advocacy Coalition and a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA), was honored for his hard work and dedication behind the scenes.
Milan, an HIV expert and 26-year HIV survivor, is the vice president and director of the community health systems at the Altarum Institute in Washington, DC. Milan was honored for his years of advocacy for HIV policies and programs. Ralph, an award-winning actress/AIDS activist was honored for her work as founder of The Divas Foundation that raises funds for HIV/ADS with its annual “Divas Simply Singing” fundraising concert. Wilson, also a member of the PACHA, was honored for mobilizing African Americans to get involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Many of our friends are also on the list.
