Maryland "H& Health and HipHop" Conference

The Maryland Health & Hip Hop Conference takes place October 24, 2015

The Black AIDS Institute and the Maryland Department of Mental Health and Hygiene Prevention and Health Promotion Administration will sponsor H& Health and HipHop, a culturally appropriate men's-only conference about sex, sexuality and HIV. The free event will take place on Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Morgan State University's Student Center.

H&'s goal is to help young Black men build responsible sexual swag by reducing risky sexual behaviors—particularly those related to the spread of HIV/AIDS—identifying risk for HIV and improving their sexual health. Participants will engage in workshops and breakout sessions on topics such as sexual health, starting and maintaining peer-education groups, community mobilization, and building partnerships with other community agencies. HIV awareness will also be raised though dance and spoken word performances. The H& conference will culminate with lively, fun and edgy events. Giveaways include gift cards, snack bags, hoodies, touchscreen gloves and more.
