LASC Rooftop Party: LA PRIDE Sunday

alt

The Black AIDS Institute’s Greater than AIDS campaign, made a strong resonating impression at the annual LASC Rooftop Pride Party. Amidst the sun-kissed party goers and flavor -splashed martinis Greater than AIDS volunteers motivated individuals to know their facts about HIV, engaged people to talk openly and freely, reinforced the importance of protecting themselves and getting tested and celebrated the community for taking action steps to normalize awareness.

Tank tops endorsing the affirming message of “Showing one’s Pride” were handed out along with various other promotional materials. The HIV awareness engine, fueled by the thunderous rhythms of Eva Simons, gleamed smiles and accurate information from 2pm – 6pm. Growing louder and larger with every hour, it truly was an amazing day during the Los Angeles Gay Pride festival this year.

Collectively, we reached over 300 individuals potentially expanding our volunteer base and generating interest in supporting future Greater than AIDS/BAI events. One person commented, “I don’t know about anyone else, but it is really inspiring to see you guys volunteer your pride party time to promote such an important cause. Thank for your dedication!” For more information regarding events, please visit www.greaterthan.org/pride.
