Kym Whitley Hosts New School Makeover Reality Show

Kym Whitley, actress, comedienne, and member of the Black AIDS Institute's Black Hollywood Task Force hosts the new reality school makeover show "School Pride." Whitley and her team join parents, students and teachers as they roll up their sleeves to renovate some of the nation's underfunded schools.

“School Pride” is not trying to overhaul the education system in this country, but rather, it’s trying to take on a few campuses that could use some uplift and refresh and energize them, be it via the school’s library or gym or even an entire building," Whitley told The Examiner.

Schools and communities highlighted in the series include Enterprise Middle School in Compton, California, Hollenbeck Middle School in Los Angeles, California, Lanier Elementary School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Kingston Springs Middle School in Nashville, Tennessee and Media Arts School in Detroit, Michigan.

"School Pride" airs Fridays at 8pm/7pm CST on NBC. Check your local listings. To learn more about the show, visit their website here.
