I already enjoyed Alimi Ballard's acting in television shows like But I have to admit that I gained even more respect for him at a Greater Than AIDS photo shoot, when he expressed his regrets for they way he (mis)handled a situation when his then-girlfriend came out to him during his early adulthood.  "It's one of the things you wish you could rewind," he admits. We also profile Philadelphia FIGHT, one of our African American HIV University (AAHU) partner organizations, which has been doing great work for a long time in the City of Brotherly Love. The Institute has also partnered with indie film director Patrik Ian Polk to promote his new independent film The Skinny and to produce a 30-second PSA which trails the movie and will be shown nationally.

Applications are due on Monday, April 23rd, for proposals for workshops or sessions to be presented at the Black Diaspora Networking Zone at AIDS 2012. Many preconference events have already been scheduled, including on leadership for PLWHA, Black leaders and MSM.
