Greater Than AIDS Shows "We All Have a Role to Play" on World AIDS Day

Greater Than AIDS marked World AIDS Day with a Twitter Chat featuring Alicia Keys, Valerie Jarrett and Rep. Barbara Lee, and by teaming up with the NBA and Walgreens for exciting promotions on the court and in Times Square. Greater Than AIDS also distributed more than 32,000 materials for World AIDS Day 2012 to more than 100 organizations.
WOMEN>AIDS: Alicia Keys, a longtime AIDS activist, Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to the President, and Congresswoman Barbara Lee, co-chair of the Congressional HIV/AIDS Caucus, discussed AIDS in America as part of a special World AIDS Day Twitter conversation moderated by Greater Than AIDS. Keys, Jarrett and Lee discussed the state of the U.S. epidemic, their own personal reasons for speaking out about HIV/AIDS and what individuals can do to help create an AIDS-free future.
NBA>AIDS: Teams across the NBA joined with Greater Than AIDS on World AIDS Day, as part of a broader partnership with NBA Cares, to get out HIV/AIDS information. On December 1, Greater Than AIDS jumbotron messages, cheer cards and other outreach appeared at home games for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, New Orleans Hornets and San Antonio Spurs. NBA teams from around the country also sent out Greater Than AIDS messages on social media for World AIDS Day and Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks spoke to CNN International about the issue.
WALGREENS>AIDS: Walgreen’s the nation’s largest drug store chain, once again teamed up with Greater Than AIDS on World AIDS Day to help get out the word with a special message on its digital display at One Times Square. Rising 341 feet above midtown Manhattan, the display is the nation’s largest. Additionally, Greater Than AIDS World AIDS Day posters, including one featuring long-time AIDS activist Sir Elton John, were in select stores during the month of December to help highlight the company’s commitment to HIV/AIDS.
