Deadline for African American HIV University Science and Treatment College Extended

You now have until June 23, 2014 to submit your application for the Black AIDS Institute's 2014 Science and Treatment College held from August 1-31, 2014 in collaboration with the UCLA Center for World Health and the UCLA AIDS Institute.

We know that biomedical interventions will play a critical role in ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic. For organizations to stay relevant in today's changing landscape, they must understand the science of HIV and AIDS. Participants in AAHU STC will learn AIDS science as well as how to promote high quality HIV/AIDS treatment and care.

STC Fellows will experience the following benefits:

Increased knowledge of HIV/AIDS pathology and physiology Increased understanding of critical treatment as prevention strategies and interventions Increased ability to mobilize Black communities through traditional Black institutionsParticipation in a national network of ASO's, CBO's, health departments, research institutions and traditional Black institutions Highlighted leadership of the Fellow and sponsoring organization, in media, academia, and the HIV field A $17,000 scholarship in the form of tuition, educational materials, training, housing, and meals

· Earn university credit from UCLA

· Start a BTAN or join the executive team of an existing BTAN
