Are you an expert on HIV and its relationship to human biology and treatment strategies? Would you like to learn more about virology, pharmacokinetics, and epidemiology? If so, become an AAHU Fellow and apply for Science and Treatment College today!

The Black AIDS Institute is re-launching its African American HIV University Science and Treatment College (AAHU SCT) – this time in collaboration with the University of California Los Angeles Center for World Health and the UCLA AIDS Institute. AAHU SCT has not been offered for more than seven years. The partnership with UCLA means the world’s leading researchers are developing the curriculum and will be leading the trainings.

As biomedical interventions play a more critical role in the work that we do,  understanding the science of HIV and AIDS will be integral to ensuring that organizations stay relevant. AAHU STC is designed to promote high quality treatment and care in this changing environment.

AAHU STC Fellows will receive the following benefits:

  • The Black AIDS Institute will cover airfare to the 30-day Science Academy (Training One)
  • The Black AIDS Institute will cover the expense of educational materials, housing and meals on UCLA’s campus
  • Fellows will receive University Credits from UCLA for completing the first training
  • Fellows become experts in virology, pharmacokinetics, and epidemiology
  • Fellows will complete the training as liaisons between people living with HIV/AIDS and the entities that serve them
