The 17th annual Divas Simply Singing!, benefiting the Balm In Gilead and Women Alive Coalition, will be held at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre, 4401 W. 8th St., Los Angeles, Calif. This year’s performers include: In 1990, Sheryl Lee Ralph established the Diva Foundation and created DIVAS Simply Singing! as a loving memorial to the many friends she had lost to HIV/AIDS. For 17 consecutive years, the DIVA and her friends have come together to raise their voices in song and commitment to HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention. Each diva performs one song with the sole accompaniment of a concert grand piano. It's like no other show you've seen. The lights, the mic, and DIVAS Simply Singing!
